All Osteopaths at Essential Family Osteopathy have completed five years of study at university and are registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). Our osteopaths are members of Osteopathy Australia and regularly undertake post-graduate education.
Dr Melissa Layton
Melissa graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and a Masters of Osteopathy. Melissa has a long history in the health field after working as a remedial massage therapist for more than 12 years. With four children of her own, Melissa has a keen interest in family health care. She understands the importance of developing an individual treatment plan to help relieve symptoms and educate her clients on how to achieve optimal health and well-being.
Melissa uses a variety of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, as well as postural, ergonomic and lifestyle advice to encourage health and well-being. To compliment her osteopathic treatment, Melissa has trained in dry needling and cupping techniques.
Melissa is an open and honest osteopath who has a genuine interest in helping people achieve their health goals.
